Rockies Fun, Drupal, SEO, Work, Ski... BLOG

By cbovard, 11 March, 2012

It has been awhile since the last Blog - Rant. There has been so many things that have happened in the last 10 months. I guess I will have to section this off in the proper Categories!

Travel - Fun - Skiing - Climbing - Biking

The last 10 months have been a blast. Last summer was spent mountain biking and a small bit of sport climbing.

Got to climb a variation on Castle Mountain - Eisenhower Tower. This was the highlight alpine rock climb of the summer.

In early June of 2011, I fell in Couger Creek in Canmore carrying a doggie across the creek. The snow melt turned the creek into a river so I lost my balance, hit the rocks and the doggy went for a swim. After that, doing any sort of climbing made my finger very sore. I am still not sure if I cracked it or not.

Got my bike nerd friends to build me a Kona Single Speed. Had alot of fun with that bike. Very interesting going back to a geared mountain bike after riding the Single Speed. I am pretty psyched for the 2012 mountain bike season here in the Rockies. I am on a 5 man team for the http://www.24hoursofadrenalin.com/canmore/ on July 21st 2012. Hopefully the same Jasper Crew is around this year. Last year was so much fun.

When the 2011 - 2012 Ski Season started, I was super excited. Got to be at Lake Louise, Jasper - Marmot Basin, Sunshine and Norquay after their opening days. So far this has been an epic snow year. I first moved too Jasper in 1992 and have not seen a snow year like this!! Hopefully there is more snow to come!

Drupal, SEO and Web Development

Last year was a fun Drupal - Web Development year. Part of summer, I commuted to Calgary to work. The commute was good for a few months. Then I found I was too tired to do it anymore. It got really hard near the end.

In Nov. I started working as a Contract - Drupal Developer for http://www.beargroup.com/. The Projects and the Team have been great to work with. It has been fun working in a complete SVN - Drupal - Drush Environment. It makes so much sense, when there is an issue you can just revert the code.

There will be alot more Responsive Web Design to come with The Bear Group!

This has been the first blog in a long time. I would write more but I am going to end it. Catch you all on the flipside! chris
